Level 2 of
Basket of Letters has three books covering 28 letters, with each letter given six pages.
- The first book covers 10 letters.
- The second book covers 9 letters.
- The third book covers 9 letters.
In these books, students will complete the following activities and learn the following skills.
- Individual Letters
- Students will learn the sounds and shapes of the letters of the alphabet.
- They will learn to pronounce the letters of the alphabet correctly.
- They will to pronounce words correctly, and to identify the sound of each letter in the word.
- They will associate a picture with the word, by knowing the first letter.
- They will write the letters from right to left.
- They will become familiar with some words that begin with the letter at hand.
- They will be able to distinguish the letter from other similarly shaped letters.
- They will write by copying the example and using the arrows.
- They will trace the dotted lines following the arrow.
- They will write letters independently, using the written example.
- They will become familiar with the shape of each letter at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of words.
- They will understand and follow simple instructions containing one, two, or three steps.
Letters Elongated with the Short Madd
- They will become familiar with the sounds and shapes of the letters that are elongated with the short madd, and they will be able to pronounce them correctly.
- They will differentiate the shapes and places of the different harakat (diacritics) above and below the letter.
- They will understand and differentiate between the harakat (diacritics) in terms of their pronunciation, shape, and place in the word.
- They will be capable of writing the word elongated with the short madd with its harakat (diacritics) in the appropriate place in the word.
Letters Elongated with the Long Madd
- They will become familiar with the sounds and shapes of the letters that are elongated with the long madd, and they will be able to pronounce them correctly.
- They will differentiate the shapes of the letters that are elongated with the long madd.
- They will understand and differentiate between the letters that are elongated with the long madd, in terms of the correct sound and pronunciation.
- They will write words elongated with the long madd with the madd in its appropriate place in the word.
- They will connect the letter elongated with the madd with the appropriate word.
3 كتب تشتمل على 28 حرفا لكل حرف 6 صفحات:
- الكتاب الأول 10 حروف.
- الكتاب الثاني 9 حروف.
- الكتاب الثالث 9 حروف.
وفيها يتعلم الطفل:

الحرف المنفرد:
- يتعلم الطفل صوت وشكل الحروف الهجائية.
- ينطق الحروف الهجائية نطقا صحيحا تبعا لمخارجها الصوتية.
- ينطق الكلمات نطقا صحيحا ويحدد صوت الحرف الأول من الكلمة.
- يربط الصورة بالكلمة من خلال التعرف على الحرف الأول.
- يتعرف على بعض المفردات التي تبدأ بهذا الحرف.
- يدرك ويميز شكل الحرف من بين مجموعة حروف مختلفة.
- يكتب محاكيا النموذج مراعيا اتجاه السهم.
- يستطيع أن يكتب على الخط الشفاف والنقاط متتبعا السهم من اليمين إلى اليسار.
- يستطيع الاعتماد على نفسه في كتابة الحرف؛ بالنظر إلى مثال مكتوب.
- يكتب الحروف من اليمين إلى اليسار.
- يتعرف على شكل الحرف أول، وسط، ونهاية الكلمة.
- يفهم ويتبع التعليمات البسيطة ذات الخطوة الواحدة أو الخطوتين أو الثلاثة وينفذها.

الحرف الممدود بالمد القصير:
- يتعرف علـى صوت وشكل الحرف الممدود بالمد القصير وينطقه نطقا صحيحا.
- يميز الطفل شكل ومكان الحركات المختلفة فوق وتحت الحرف..
- يدرك ويميز الفروق بين الحركات من حيث النطق والشكل والموقع في الكلمة.
- يتمكن من كتابة الحرف الممدود بالمد القصير في موقعه المناسب من الكلمة.

- يتعرف علـى صوت وشكل الحرف الممدود بالمد الطويل وينطقه نطقا صحيحا.
- يميز الطفل شكل الحرف الممدود بالمد الطويل.
- يدرك ويميز الفروق بين الحروف الممدودة بالمد الطويل من حيث الصوت والنطق الصحيح.
- يتمكن من كتابة الحرف الممدود بالمد الطويل في موقعه المناسب من الكلمة.
- يصل بين الحرف الممدود مع الكلمة المناسبة.
