يحتاج المعلم في بداية الفصل الدراسي إلى أن يتعارف المتعلمون بعضهم مع بعض من ناحية, وأن يتعرف إليهم المعلم من ناحية ثانية, و ذلك بطريقة غير تقليدية, بحيث يتم خلال هذا التعارف اتباع أسلوب كسر الحواجز النفسية بين المتعلمين كافة من ناحية, وبينهم وبين المعلم من ناحية أخرى, و لهذا فإنه من الأفضل استخدام أنشطة تعارفية متعددة يكون فيها حركة و تفاعل بين جميع الأطراف, كما تجعلهم في حالة مريحة, و تزيل عنهم ما قد يعتريهم من توتر أو قلق.
